2018 Wireless Power Week (WPW2018) is the inaugural and largest wireless power event in the world, co-sponsored by Microwave Theory and Technique Society (MTT-S) and IEEE PELS. For the first time, this event combines three major conferences in the field: IEEE MTT-S Wireless Power Transfer Conference (WPTC), IEEE PELS Workshop on Emerging Technologies: Wireless Power (WoW), and Wireless Power Congress of the Wireless Power Consortium (WPC). They will be held on June 3rd-7th 2018 co-locally in Montréal, Canada, allowing interactions between researchers and developers from all disciplines and backgrounds in the field of wireless power.
Special Sessions and Workshops are an integral part of the WPTC2018 technical program. Proposals are invited for Special Sessions and Workshops on topics in RF/microwave/Antenna areas that are of high interest to the wireless power community. Special Session proposals should highlight emerging new technical topics that are gaining importance and are of high interest to the wireless power community. Special Sessions encompass a wide range of topics, and may either involve a specific emerging technology or cover several technologies that are relevant to a common application. Examples of emerging technologies that are of interest include, but are not limited to:
- Mobile and personal devices
- Electric vehicles
- Medical and biological devices
- Internet of things (IoTs)
- Space solar power satellite
- Middle- and long-distance WPT
- High-power rectifiers
- High-frequency power transmitters and devices
- Low-power and high-efficiency rectifying technologies
- Techniques for ambient energy harvesting and scavenging
- Beamforming/steering techniques for wireless power transfer
Special Session and Workshop Proposal Submission: The proposals should be one page long and indicate the title and an abstract of the topic, the name(s), affiliation(s) and e-mail address (es) of the organizer (s), the duration, a preliminary list of speakers and their talk titles. If you have ideas for workshops or special sessions, we invite you to e-mail your proposals to the Special Session and Workshop Chair, Yongxin Guo, (email@example.com).
The Proposal Submission Deadline is January 19, 2018 (Friday). Decisions and notifications of proposal acceptance will be made by the end of January 2018. Additional instructions on paper submissions will be provided to the organizers and speakers of accepted proposals at that time. Organizers of accepted proposals should instruct their speakers to submit their papers by the WPTC2018 paper submission deadline (18 February 2018), and to select the Special and Workshop Session (as applicable) category during submission. There are no exceptions to WPTC2018 paper submission deadlines, for the Special and Workshop Session papers.
